WHOSE Child Is THIS?!?

We sang Christmas Carols at church this weekend... lots of them. Some we all knew well, others weren't so familiar to us all. Either way, they were all beautiful with the violin and flute playing along!

One we sang was "What Child Is This" and we sang THE. WHOLE. SONG. Blossom wasn't familiar with all the words and can't quite read along yet to sing, so I told her to listen and then join me in singing... "This, this, is..."

Could you please imagine yourself with me in a mostly empty church (it was the Saturday night Vigil Mass - the day after Christmas... bound to have low turn out with holiday parties and such!) and we were sitting in the third pew from the front. Now, please get in the spirit and sing with me... "What child is this who, laid to rest on Mary's lap is sleeping? Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet..." Right, now, keep it up! You sound great!!

Now, we are getting to one of the last verses...

"So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh, Come peasant, king to own Him; The King of kings salvation brings, Let loving hearts enthrone Him."

Back to the chorus with the congregation, "This, this is Christ the King..."

Interject Blossom here (in her standard LOUD voice): "WHAT?!?! Why did they THROW Baby Jesus? Who did THAT? That is mean. Throwing Baby Jesus."

"... The Babe, the Son of Mary."

ME: Shrinking and trying to explain in a whisper that "enthrone" is not "throwing"!! Whose noisy child is this next to me, anyway! Oh, she is MINE!
