Ideas, please.

So, we are traveling again... Hitting a work conference for Pops and that means we wanted to tag along. We will be seeing the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas and everything on the road between home and there!

So, I don't know what "the thing" is for souvenirs in that region of the world. Has anyone visited before and what was "it" for the area?

You know, in England it is tea, Poland is pottery, Mexico is vanilla, Chicago is an Eat at Ed's pin, New York is a white t-shirt with I {heart} NY, Nebraska is Huskers gear of any kind.  So, what's the thing for the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Las Vegas?!?!

I have to warn you that I am vaguely familiar with the preferred souvenir from Las Vegas for a lady - either a new last name OR a suitcase full of money. I am perfectly happy with my current last name and I think the means in which one acquires that suitcase full of money might not work out. My tag-a-long short people will probably not pass for just being vertically challenged, their behavior might give them away for being age challenged at the tables and slots. So, please feel free to offer OTHER items that might be good for souvenirs... but HURRY! We'll be leaving the Grand Canyon SOON! If you give me a SPECTACULAR* idea, I might just get one for you, too!

*I will determine what is spectacular or not. I will judge for spectacularity based on its ability to be easily transported or shipped, its small souvenir budget consciousness and whether or not it plain old trips my trigger! Good Luck and have fun doing my research, eh?!! Thanks for that!

  1. Turquoise, my friend! It's transportable, small, and cool--not necessarily flashy like Vegas, but a more authentic souvenir of the Southwest.

  2. You could always bring home a poker chip. Not that you would actually play...... Elvis memorabilia but that could also be from Memphis, as you well know. Sand as its desert. Lots of glitter & lights! Have fun! G.

  4. JR linked me to your blog. Hello from the Cornhusker State. Love the pics. Just had to share a quick idea here. We buy the kids key chains when we go somewhere. They attach them to backpacks or library bags or somewhere else special. Our favorites include ones Galen brought back from Florida with sand in them (even though they said made in china). Have a fun trip!!!
