Well, I didn't mean to leave you hanging after last week's Wordless Wednesday, but I wanted to finish up that first day and how our crazy Black Bull Calf turned into a Brownish Heifer Calf!! Anyway, we DID get some fowl the other day!
We asked the gentleman at the Tractor Supply Co. to get us twelve chicks and four ducks.
I counted them yesterday, and there are 13 chicks! Looks like we got a baker's dozen out of the deal. SO, we have 7 that are light colored and might become white?? And we have 6 darker chicks that (I HOPE) will turn reddish in color.
Everyone is loving on these little cuties!
(OH! And, Bump got a hair cut! So, it is shorter and still curly!!)
There are plenty of fingers to hold and squish - eek - the little birdies.
I LOVE that Bud got all giggly about this little duck!!
We must be very careful with this little guy holding the birdies! He likes to pick them up by their neck, or try to squish them with with his huge love!!
This one is my favorite little ducky, right now!
We have a 3.5 gallon waterer, and a gallon chick feeder - it keeps them comfortable.
The heat lamp keeps them warm (and I have read that the red light at night even keeps predators away...) in the garage.
The chicks are already changing so much. I hope to get out there to take some more pictures soon - but it is raining raining today and that makes everyone want to just hunker down inside!
What a conglomeration of cute, cute critters you are accumulating! I bet you are glad to have a vet in the family! Love all the pictures, as usual! Lots of hands-on learning for the tree-kids!
