My Daybook, Entry #35

The Simple Woman's Daybook

Tuesday, June 1, 2010...

Outside my window... Overcast with some bits starting to clear off. The forecast says 64 and partly sunny! (Then rain the rest of the week?!?!)

I am thinking... about "Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit!" This is a phrase some friends and I used to say to each other (a long time ago) on the first day of the month. BUT - for the life of me, I cannot remember where it came from, what it was supposed to mean or anything! Does anyone have any information to help me through this memory loss??

I am thankful for... electric clothes washing & drying machines. Who will be the inventor of the electric clothes folding machine?

From the learning rooms... ON BREAK!! We are done with Pre-K, 1st & 2nd Grades!!! But, I am rethinking all of my plans for the coming year. Math, I am settled on Teaching Textbooks and the big kids' stuff arrived a while back for that. But, the rest of the subjects... I am re-evaluating and considering putting my own plan together and I am sort of excited about that! We'll see how it goes, anyway!

From the kitchen... my "big meal" plans
Tues: Chicken Stir-Fry
Wed: Hamburgers
Thurs: Spaghetti
Fri: Chicken Scampi
Sat: Potluck Feast
Sun: Roast
Mon: "Kitchen Sink" Chili
I am wearing... right now?? I still have my nightgown on. It is super-duper soft!!

I am creating... PRIZES!!!!!!!!! And, I hope to sew myself a skirt - I am creating and re-creating it in my head.

I am going... to take the kids on a "playdate" this afternoon.

I am reading... Rainbow Resource Center's Homeschool Supplies Catalog

I am hoping... Pops has a good couple of days while working in Southern Cal. (and hurries home!!)

I am hearing... Blossom crunching on her cold cereal breakfast and singing her made up songs, while Bud and Branch are stirring up their concoction of vinegar, salt and dirty pennies - Shiny pennies are desirable! Bump is laying across my lap, sucking on his bottom lip, cooing, humming and attacking my left hand, while I type with my right hand. Bark is snoring on the couch beside me. It is a busy day already!!!

Around the house... a newly rearranged loft!

One of my favorite things... Ingenuity - especially on the part of the treekids!

A few plans for the rest of the week... Baseball games tonight and tomorrow, library time, playdate this afternoon, Bud's Blue Knights Family Feast on Saturday, the girls' Little Flowers Tea on Sunday (if we can work it in!), a possible trip to the coast on Thursday/Friday - OH, MY!! This week makes me exhausted just looking at all the running...

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

Sibling Love!!

  4. That picture is PRECIOUS! And if they invented a folding machine, trust me... I would be first in line to buy one!!

  5. I am on Hubby's laptop so I don't have your email, lol. I saw this and thought of you (you sewing genius you!): http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2010/06/re-purposing-stained-tshirt-into-shrug.html

  6. Hello! It's a long-lost Sandozie friend...I was just reading a few of your posts after not checking in with your blog for along time, and I love that we were thinking Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit on the same day and time! From what I remember, if you say Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit on the first day of the month, and it's the first thing you say when you wake up, you'll have good luck all month long. Kind of silly...but I like how it's connected to good memories! I can't believe how big your kids are! You have a beautiful family!

Thanks for jumping in and leaving your thoughts!!

I sure like to know who enjoys playing around the treehouse!
