Happy Birthday, Geemah!!

I mentioned on Monday that I was working on a gift for my mom's birthday. Well, my part of that is done!! WooooHoooo!!! The only "problem" is that I really should have completed the project several weeks ago so that it could be produced and shipped in time. A calendar filled with pictures of her grand-monkeys!! (She knows, so I'm not spoiling anything, here!!) Since I make it, it doesn't have to go Jan - Dec... but instead Feb - Feb! I add in the birthdays and anniversaries that she requests and there we go!

Now, since I am behind on getting that calendar to her... I am offering her a teeny tiny present. I know that grandmas like to see those grandbabes more often than they probably get to (especially with our huge milage gap between homes!!) and babies change SOO much so fast! So, I tried out the video function on that little pocket camera (that doesn't take very good quality photos - sorry about that for yesterday.) and see what I could do...

I got some happy baby gurgles - so turn up your volume!!!

and he might be wishing that he had the luxury of a little bit of privacy on this next one!

I hope you enjoyed your peek at this growing babe!! And, Happy Happy Birthday Mom/Geemah!!!!

Neglect

Yes, I have been neglecting the pictures in our little pocket camera that I took this past weekend. I know that I need to get them up here and tell a bit about our fun weekend before the next one comes and goes! But, for now... I HAVE to share these of my growing-too-fast-already, Bump.

My Daybook, Entry #20

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY
Monday, February 8, 2010...

Outside my window... Cloudy, even a tad bit foggy. 38F

I am thinking... The sun is up! It's a good day! - This is what Bud said nearly every morning when he was two and three years old. Precious. So, we now all say it!!

I am thankful for... books. Books for me, Books for Bud, Books for Branch, Books for Blossom, Books for you, Books, Books, Books!!

From the learning rooms... I am contemplating adding more structure to our days. Structure as in a schedule of when we'll work on Math, when they will get their independent work done, etc.

From the kitchen... I think that I made "enough" yesterday for the game. We will reheat those Manwiches today for lunch. Yum!

I am wearing... yoga type pants, tshirt, soft socks, braid down the back of my neck

I am creating... a pattern for a cutie patootie little something for my ONLY niece. I just realized that we only have ONE! We have four nephews and ONE niece. Of course, those numbers are always up for change at some point! I am also working on a birthday present for my mom!!

I am going... to try to get us out to the library this week.

I am reading... "Child of Mine; Feeding with Love and Good Sense" by Ellyn Satter - it is really good and I always forget how much great information she has to share about feeding and the division of responsibility. She has a website if you are interested: Ellyn Satter Associates

I am hoping... to get that little ditty put together for our niece early this week.

I am hearing... Snoring - Bark. She turns 9 this month. I'll give her a break on the snoring for now.

Around the house... A need to rid our home of more clutter. I am considering doing what Jessica over at Shower of Roses is doing... 40 bags in 40 days. Go check it out!

One of my favorite things... soft baby skin. Who doesn't love that?!?

A few plans for the rest of the week... sew, school, read, make a plan for more decluttering, sleep!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

Breakfast one day last week.

To read more daybooks or to join in the fun, head over to Peggy's.

Bowls of Super Stuff!!!

The Saints are playing against some team with a guy who has a brother on another team. (I'll figure out who the other team is once we start it - I just can't recall.) It would have been fun to have some people over for the big game, but being out of town over the first part of the weekend didn't lend itself to a shindig at our house. Mid-afternoon seemed too early to watch the Superbowl, so DVR is our friend and while we waited for a later kick-off time, we prepared some YUMMY YUMMY things to eat!!
OH - the COLTS! Yea, the Manning brothers. That's it! So, the Saints will play the Colts and - who to root for, who to root for?!?! I guess I don't really care. I will root for "a good game" and GREAT commercials!!

Earlier this afternoon I made some sweets, too!
  • Caramel Chex
  • Grandma Winkie's Buttery Toffee Cookies
I'm thinking that this is our best football "spread" ever! I think we could have added brats, but this time it was best without the big sausages... we'll save those for breakfast next fall!!

Sayonara Football... see ya in the fall! Watch out... here comes March madness... it is only a month away!
