I am out at my folks' home with the kids in Illinois while Pops does a little globe-trotting! If you don't hear from me much for a bit it is only because there is a full schedule of fun planned!

Eeek!??
He doesn't often like a photo to be taken... but he cannot resist the foolin' around on a computer!

1, and a 2, and a kick, and
I opened up "Photo Booth" on my computer the other day and I found this:
and this...
and this...
and this...
and this... the fall.
Any guesses as to who those legs belong to?
Maybe "the fall" really is that they photograph their faces
as well as their upside down Rockettes Dance Legs!

Fishin
Pops was happy to see that Bump was interested in fishin'. So, he helped him work on reeling in...
Bump had a little bit of want to do it himself.
But, wait! What's THAT the boys were reeling in?
A BALL BOBBER!
Let's get a closer look at that...
WAIT!! I wanted that BALL!
It is right there. Bring it back, daddy. I want the ball.
Aaaaaah... here it comes!
Yesssss! Thank you!
You are my hero, dad!
WAIT! I wasn't done with it.
Whew. There it is.
BALL!! I. Love. Balls. I am so glad that there are balls in fishing.
Love, Bump

F-
Bump had sooo much fun at the baseball game back in May.
It was a Monday.
It was May 16th.
You might be noticing a little something.
We stayed until the end.
Yaaah! The very end. You're Outta Here!!
The thing is, we were one of the 10 groups of people who stayed to the end. It looked like this from about the 6th or 7th inning on. Not that it was a packed house to begin with, but THIS? It is RIDICULOUS, no? We are in the outfield on the 1st base line. Bud wanted to catch a home run... Bwah ha ha ha.
The score didn't change in the 9th inning. This game was an epic fail. Well, on the part of the Royals it was, anyway! Sheesh. Take your kids to their first ever major league baseball game and it turns out like THIS. They have a skewed view.

A While Back
We took the treekids to the Kansas City Royals baseball game. They enjoyed the kids' area, the food, the lights, the fountains, watching for the cotton candy man, the drinks, and Bump enjoyed the baseball game. "Ball" was the fourth word he has. (First: Dada, Second: Mama, Third: WOW!) Bump love love loves BALLs of all shapes and sizes, but I think that baseball is his favorite. He was wide awake and loving all of the action.
This ginormous ball was right up his alley!
And those two crazy brothers sure had fun messin' around together!
There were a lot of fun things to do up in the kids' area. We opted for the free playground and this giant ball. The other activities included a carousel, a mini ball field, a mini-golf course and a few others. BUT, it was at least $2 per kid per activity. Sheeesh. Hi-way robbery I say! We'd already paid an arm and half a leg to get into the game! But, Blossom was wanting a ride on the carousel and my fervent NO was not received too well and she would NOT look at the camera.
While I was choosing & editing pictures for this post, Blossom was watching and told me that I should just cut her out of the picture since she knew that it was a pouty self. I think that several years from now, she will have the opportunity to look back and remember that mom carries a camera all the time and I even record that fusses. That is what having a photo does in a journal! It makes you see reality at times, no? So, we will forever remember the fussing over the carousel!! They did get a HUGE bag of cotton candy, several soda pops, the picks of stadium eats, etc... This kids were not neglected! And eventually we found faces that were ALL smiles. (sort of!)
Translation: WOW!
Fun times at Kauffman Stadium! More about the game later... we are headed to the pool today. It is HOT and MUGGY here outside of Manhattan, KS. I have to hurry this morning and get the trailer ready to tow, so we can play at the pool a while before we leave when Pops is done working! Tonight we will head to Nebraska for a wedding and family reunion.

Yukon Czech Hall Fun
A week or so ago, Grandpa on Pops' side played his tuba with a polka band on a bus tour for Memorial Day weekend! Fun for about 60 folks from around their home on tour to Oklahoma, Texas and back again! Since we were in Oklahoma then, we went to the polka dance and had a great time!
The treekids were soooooo excited to see their Grandpa on the sign outside the door! ("Al" - fourth from the left!)
And to see Grandma with her friends inside the dance hall! (On the right wearing red - Go Big RED!)
Then, Branch started dancing - and ALWAYS seemed to have a partner! She now polkas, waltzes, and two-steps!
Blossom was excited that there were other little girls to play with and danced her new friend around the floor a few times!
Bump had to have several rests as we were there from 7:30 - 10:45PM!! But, he never really fell asleep until we were headed out. He closed his eyes and rested his head many times though!
Branch's little sandals, while super cute, were causing trouble with blisters... but, she did not let that deter her! She danced and danced,
and danced and danced! (And Bud went and sat with the band, often! Standing at the back of the photo above.)
When the band took a break, that was cue for Bump to run away on the dance floor!
And if someone looked at him and told him he was cute...
He'd run back, pull his shirt up a bit and rub his belly button. One of his favorite self soothing tricks!
Pops took his mom for a round around the floor a few times
It seems that Grandma hardly sat a dance out! She and Branch kept their dance cards quite full!
I loved when the two girls danced a few together, too - when no one else was available to dance with them!
I did dance with Pops, Bud, Branch, Blossom and Bump. Whenever I was dancing, they were too! I am not photographed dancing and neither was Bud - he didn't dance if I wasn't - so, you'll just have to trust that we ALL had our turns flying about the dance floor!
This hall has been hosting a Czech dance on Saturdays since 1925! HOLY COW!
The sidewalk going into the building had bricks with names of people who had contributed in some way, I believe! The treekids were soooooo excited to see their Grandpa on the sign outside the door! ("Al" - fourth from the left!)
